I stayed at Yamashiro onsen during kanazawa trip(kanazawa). Onsen means hot sporing. Thus Yamashiro onsen area is hot spring area😉 I think the page is helpful (here). It takes about 30-50 minutes by train( depends on the type of train) to nearest staion Kaga onsen station. My husband looooves hot spring, so we decided to move from kanazawa to hot spring area to cozy stay. In addition to that, my friend lives near here. Kanazawa is kind of city especially around station, but the hot spring area is country side. There are many many green.
Our hotel was very Japanese style hotel, it is called ryokan. There are no bed in the room, we slept on Futon. Dinner and breakfast was also Japanese style. And we can have hot spring all the time. It was relaxing time for us.
As it happens, traditional festival (it is called Matsuri) was held near the hotel in the time. We went to see the Matsuri”Yamashiro Daidengaku” It was very unique and interesting. The friend from America said it was like the world of “Spirited Away” (movie title)
If you went to Kanazawa, I recommend to go to Onsen area near kanazawa😉

金沢旅行の際の宿泊は金沢駅周辺ではなく、少し足をのばし、山代温泉まで行きました。乗る電車に寄りますが、電車で30～50分で最寄り駅の加賀温泉駅に。旦那さんが温泉がだーーい好きなのと友達が近くに住んでいるということで、せっかくなので金沢から少し離れての宿泊にしました。金沢は都会ですが、加賀温泉のほうまで行くと緑いっぱいのエリアです。
外で宿泊するときは、ほとんどホテルなので旅館には久しぶりに泊まりました。２４時間温泉が入れて夕飯も朝食も日本食。もっとゆっくりしたかったけど（笑）いつもよりゆっくりした時間を過ごせました^^
ちょうど宿泊していた日に、山代大田楽というお祭りがやっておりました。初めて見ましたが、雰囲気がある場所で奇抜な衣装を着た人たちが様々なパフォーマンスを見せてくれ、楽しめました。アメリカから来たお友達も千と千尋の世界みたいと喜んでくれていたようなのでよかったです♡
