More than two months have passed since big island trip. I sometimes see my photos in big island again. Addition to that, I love to see tons of Hawaii photos on Instagram and I always feel” oh, I missed so many beautiful places in Hawaii! I went to Oahu last year and to big island this year. In both island, there are many places I missed to go. Today, I just want to review my big island trip 😉
Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park: The Park is further south from Kona airport. From Hilton Waikoloa village we stayed, it takes 1.5hours. Surprisingly, the way to the national historical park, we passed many wild areas (like little jungle). If you drive the area after dark, you need to be careful because maybe there are no light. Anyway, I think the park is great place to go! There are lot of history and culture here so you can learn traditional Hawaiian culture. I think statues of Tiki are famous in the park. There are also great beach and many palm trees. I liked the atmosphere😉 We can see beautiful sunset too. With any luck, you’ll see turtles. (But we could not see them.)
Malasada: It was incredibly delicious! I had no idea it would be this delicious. We had malasada at “TEX Drive In” We bought two at first, we tasted them, they were soooo good, and so we got another malasada🙂 After back to Japan, we ate malasada in Japan. But it was completely different..
Akaka Falls State Park: It was a lovely stop to enjoy short hike (about10 minutes’ walk) and falls. There are wonderful Hawaiian rain forest with lots of native plants and flowers. The falls are beautiful and worth the quick walk. 😉
Mauna Kea: As you know, Mauna Kea is the highest mountain in Hawaii. The height is 4,207 m. I was surprised when I found we can go to top of the mountain by only a car because we cannot go to Mount Fuji by only a car despite of its height is 3,776 m. (Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan) We had planned to go to summit of Mauna Kea, however we only went middle of the mountain. In spite of middle of the Mauna Kea, we can see beaaautiful stars that were twinkling in the night sky. That was memorable moment for me. If you would like to the top of Mauna Kea, you need to make a reservation for tour, and the tour is very popular. So I think you need to book early😉

Dolphins watching: A thing I was looking forward to the most in Hawaii is dolphins watching. Since I watched dolphins in Oahu, I love dolphins. They are so cute. We went to the dolphins’ spot by a boat, and snorkeled in the ocean. Surprisingly we can see many dolphins very near! I was very impressed about it. There is no dolphins’ photo, but this is the moment my dream comes true!

ハワイ島への旅行から早くも２ヶ月経ちました。自分たちのハワイ島での写真もよく見返しますが、インスタグラムでハワイの写真を見るのも大好きです。その度にたくさんの見所を逃している～と感じるものです（笑）去年はオアフ島、今年はハワイ島に行きましたが、どちらの島でもまだ見ておきたいスポットが残っています^^ 今日はハワイ島旅行のシェアをしたいと思います。
プウホヌア・オ・ホナウナウ国立歴史公園：コナ空港より南に位置するこの公園。私たちが宿泊していたヒルトンワイコロアビレッジからは１時間半ほどかかったように思います。驚いたのはこの公園に行くまでに、プチジャングルの様な道を通ったことです（笑）舗装された道はあるものの、街頭などはあまりなかったので、暗くなってからのドライブはとても危険なように思いました。（お昼通る分には楽しめるかも♪）それはともかく、こちらの公園は行ってよかったです。特に派手な何かがあるわけではありませんが、ハワイの歴史が学べるようになっていて、ビーチがありたくさんのやしの木が生えております。有名なのはティキの像が建っていることでしょうか。きれいな夕日もここから見ることができました。私はハワイを感じられるこの公園好きでした^^ 私たちは見られませんでしたが、運がいいと亀もここで見られるそうです。
マラサダ：本当に感動のおいしさでした♡正直行くまで全く期待もしてなくて、ただのドーナツでしょとしか思っていなかったのに、食べて感動！柔らかくてびっくりするおいしさでした。私たちは“TEX Drive In”で食べました。ハワイ島だとここが１番マラサダでは有名のお店のようです。まず２つ買って、あまりにおいしかったので追加で買って２人で食べました。あのおいしさが忘れられず、横浜でも食べましたが、あの感動の味とは全然違って残念・・。また食べたい～。
マウナケア：言わずと知れた、ハワイで１番高い山。高さは、4,207 mもあるそうで、驚いたのは頂上まで車で行けること。富士山（3,776m）の方が低いけれど車で頂上まではいけないのに・・。山のなだらかさ等が違うのでしょうね。マウナケアの頂上まで行くつもりでしたが、色々不手際等があっていけず・・。マウナケアの中腹まで行き、星空を見ましたが、とってもきれいでした。マウナケアの頂上へ行くには指定されたツアー会社を通してしかいけなく、人気なので早めの予約が必要そうです。頂上までいけなくても星はとてもきれいに見えます。マウナケアの星空も忘れられない思い出の１つです^^

イルカと泳ぐ：今回ハワイ島でやることで１番楽しみにしていたといっても過言ではなかったのがイルカちゃんでした。昨年オアフ島でイルカを間近で見てからすっかりいるかの魅力にはまってしまいました（笑）イルカが見られるスポットまでボートで行き、海でプカプカ浮かんでいるところにイルカの大群と遭遇することができ感動でした・・！イルカの写真はないものの、夢が叶った瞬間でした♡
